Now 11 years old, our son has played hockey for 7 years. Ever since he first stepped on the ice, he wanted to be a goalie. He started playing at the Mite level in a local Tier 4 program. We quickly realized that goalie training at many organizations was not a priority and began to seek out additional training. After his second Mite season, we discovered Steve Valiquette’s Goalie School and our son really flourished. After that first year at camp, our son has gone back each year. He continues to learn and improve his techniques every year. He has been able to apply what he has learned at camp to his everyday play and now plays at the AAA level. He applies the skills Steve teaches during practice and in games. We feel certain that, without Steve’s hands-on, positive approach to coaching, our son would not be playing at the level he is today. Steve is truly an inspiration and his genuine desire for all students to be the best that they can be is a life-lesson that students can carry over to their day-to-day lives. Steve instills in his students that it’s okay to “dream big” and that they can be and do anything that they set out to achieve. We highly recommend Steve Valiquette’s Goalie School, as well as the private lessons he offers, to anyone who wants to keep getting better and better.

Please read detailed camp description in the programs section on the website. We tried other goalie camps in the past, but we have stayed with Valiquette for the past 5 years - and here is why: Steve is a hands-on mentor. He is at all sessions and truly cares about the development of each of his students. The Valiquette camp has both ice time and off-ice training, including nutrition classes and "chalk talk," where the boys learn about different game scenarios they may encounter. My son looks forward to his training sessions with Steve, because Steve really cares and it shows!

Over the past three summers, your goalie camp has given Nick an amazing grasp on the fundamentals of goaltending; more recently, your personal training with Nick has refined the details to those fundamentals. As Nick continues to enjoy success as a goalie at a very young age, I am positive that all the successes that have resulted from your coaching will translate to being a more confident and productive goalie, student and adult in the future.
An aspect of your camp that I was not expecting is your work off the ice with Nick and the rest of the goalies. Through your methods of teaching them proper nutrition, selecting the proper equipment and working on basic skills of communicating (on and off the ice), you have reinforced the concepts of respecting themselves, the position, the game and each other.Dave Chaloux Newtown, CT. This camp is designed specifically for goalies who are currently competing or entering their first year of High School Hockey.

I highly recommend working with Vally to any goalie who wants to succeed, reach their goals, and become a better goaltender. I have been doing his camp and lessons for years and have seen vast improvements in my game. Due to his detailed approach, great knowledge of the position, and eagerness to see the goalie get better and better you are bound to get great results. Not only does he help you with the physical aspect of the position, he also assists you in learning very important aspects of mental preparation for games and practices. No other goalie coach compares to Steve, he is the best around.

Vally has been like a big brother to me for as long as I can remember, I don't know where I'd be without his help. He hasn't only made me a considerably better goaltender but also a better person. He's much more then just a great hockey player, He's a great guy.

The goalies in this camp have known me for years and, most, if not all, have also coached at my camps at some point. This is a week of intense, NHL-style training that will prepare my guys for the next level in personal development. Covering in detail how to read the play, how to engage your eyes, and everything tip-wise that only a current pro could offer. The camp is designed so that we spend a lot of time together in video sessions ironing out the final details of each goalies game.
The camp is limited to 12 goalies.
